Shortlisted for the Empty Chair Design Award, this project was designed in response to the symbolism of an empty chair to represent excluded or marginalised people. Laminated layers of Valchromat are shaped with a CNC router to create a contrasting seat, intended to draw attention to the emptiness of the chair when vacant.
